Watershed is not officially a Waldorf school, but it grew out of the Waldorf educational movement, and its curriculum and approach are influenced by Rudolf Steiner's model of human development.
Rudolf Steiner was an Austrian philosopher and scientist. Insisting upon a highly ambitious curriculum infused with arts, crafts, and a sense of ethics, Steiner established the first Waldorf school in 1919 in Stuttgart, Germany. Today there are about 900 Waldorf schools in 30 countries worldwide.
