Watershed Special Education Program
Watershed High School provides a comprehensive program with a continuum of services for our students with disabilities. All of our services are developed to facilitate each student in reaching their potential. The organization and provision of special education services in our school are guided by the following fundamental assumptions:
The students at Watershed are provided with a comprehensive array of suitable special education and associated services, either within the mainstream classroom environment, in small pull-out groups, or through individualized instruction. Some students benefit from specialized programs offered within the school. Watershed aims to establish a robust framework for inclusive education. |

Special Education Advisory Council
Watershed High School’s Special Education Advisory Council aims to promote inclusivity for every student. We, as parents and educators, are dedicated to break through the barriers related to special needs in order to help each child achieve their full potential. SEAC is an acronym for the Special Education Advisory Council, which is a group that provides input on special education issues to its local school district. Its purpose is to advise and advocate. By sharing their unique perspective of what it is like to use these services, parents can help the district to be more effective. In order to increase the involvement of parents of children with disabilities in district policy making and decision making, school districts have a special education advisory council that is incorporated into the district's special education system plan. Attending the advisory meetings can help you better understand how to work with the school division and how special education can meet the needs of children and youth with disabilities. All future SEAC meeting dates will be emailed to families and posted on our social media. For more information, reach out to the Special Education Team.
