Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (34 C.F.R. Part 104) is a federal civil rights statute that assures individuals will not be discriminated against based on their disability. Section 504 protects a student with an impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, whether the student receives special education services or not. Watershed High School does not discriminate in all materials available to students, participants, beneficiaries, applicants and employees based on disability and identifies the person responsible for coordinating Section 504.
The 504s at Watershed High School are handled by the 504 Coordinator, Bryan May. Bryan is responsible for all Section 504 matters pertaining to identification, evaluation and placement, as well as disability discrimination. Bryan can be contacted by calling 612-871-4363 or emailing [email protected]. |
