My years at Watershed felt like they came and went so fast, but they were probably some of if not the happiest and best moments I had at a school. Don't let the strange atmosphere lead you away if you're considering letting your own kid to go here- the school definitely IS strange, but it's a welcoming, good, strange. if anything, that is what makes this school even more unique!
It's small and has super amazing, funny, and silly teachers that really make you feel welcome, and due to its small size, you'll be able to really get that 1 on 1 experience that some kids can't get at mainstream, typical public schools. That was the case for me and going to Watershed made my grades go up to B’s and A’s which I never expected to be able to do because I struggled in normal public school for so long.
Highly recommend checking this school out and please consider enrolling your kid here! , Emma F.
"…I learned that I have family all around me. My teachers, my classmates, my friends, they have loved me into the person I am today, supported me through everything I’ve done, convinced me that life is worth living. For many long years I did not think I would live to see myself graduate. I did not think I would make it this far, and yet, here I am, just a couple short weeks from being done with high school forever. Completing this project has renewed my hope for the future. I feel like I can do anything, as long as I set my mind to it, and as long as I have family by my side." - N
While I wasn’t a fan of being in huge crowds, I preferred Watershed over any big public school and larger classrooms. I felt more accepted here, great community, and an immense support and help from all the staff members! I didn’t feel just like a regular student here but instead I felt like we were all a big family! I loved my high school years at Watershed! - Bella O
It's a Great School my daughter attends there and I just love the staff they are very Accepting, Loving, Caring, Understanding and Giving. When a child attends Watershed it’s like they’re going to school with family. – Niya F
This is a shout-out to Watershed High School. This is a small alternative school in Richfield that emphasizes learning through art and creativity in general. They have been a great alternative to the big public school my child attended previously. My child feels safe and supported there, and able to be more fully who they are. Their grades came up and their anxiety about school went down. An added bonus has been that Watershed was fully equipped to switch to distance education, and was able to complete last academic year with a minimum of disruption, while keeping the kids engaged all day long. It must not have been easy for the staff, but they made it work. We are so glad we found this place! – Heller L
Watershed is a small strong community and really embraces the students for who they are. – Emily Mc.
We moved our kid to Watershed in the middle of the school year last year, in the face of a MPS that was just failing to see and engage them. It was the best decision we ever could have made. The amount of caring and personal attention our child has received has meant everything. This is a small school with a strong sense of community among the students and staff. And especially when covid hit, Watershed was both FAR more nimble in moving to remote learning, but also FAR more effective in how it was provided! We LOVE Watershed and could recommend it highly enough! - MJG
The entire staff at Watershed high school were so helpful and caring. I can't say enough great things about this school. my son was struggling in different schools but thrived at Watershed. I would recommend this school to anyone who asks me. -  Billy M
Allows students to be themselves in a safe and supportive environment. This school was a blessing for my daughter who did not thrive in a mainstream public school. – Sara L.
It’s a community. My daughter was bullied at her old school and when we found Watershed High School. She felt she belonged somewhere and felt safe. When she was in her home school district, she missed over 50 days in a year. At Watershed, her last year it was 5 days. And because of Covid she missed her senior year. All her teachers came to our house to give her, her diploma. We are truly going to miss watershed. - Kristi J.
